Description: This 60 minute session will provide an opportunity to practice skills related to routine trach care and maintenance, as well as to simulate trach emergency management. Participants must complete an online Tracheostomy NEW/Orientation (On-Demand): Nursing Care and Management Course in the Absorb LMS prior to attending the skills session. This module is available for SELF ENROLLMENT in Absorb.

Special Comments: Participants will NOT be able to participate in the in-person skills and competency validation session if they have not completed Tracheostomy NEW/Orientation 2021 (On-Demand): Nursing Care and Management Course in the Absorb LMS prior to attending.
Target Audience: Nurses NEW to the CCND Tracheostomy Competency.
Course Objectives: Review routine care skills for Trachs.
Respond to simulated Trach emergency scenarios.
Pre-requisites: Tracheostomy NEW/Orientation : Nursing Care and Management Course in the Absorb LMS. When staff register for a skills session here, they should also register for the Absorb course will receive a separate confirmation email from Absorb.
