Description
This 3-hour workshop prepares nurses to teach content and evaluate staff competence for the CCND Core Competency "Clinical Emergency Response"
Target Audience
RNs committed to assisting other staff members in learning, developing, demonstrating and increasing competence to respond to clinical emergencies
Course Objectives
1. Demonstrate the knowledge, ability and skills required to successfully complete unit level validation of competence in Clinical Emergency Response 2. Learn training methods for promoting skill development, critical thinking and evaluation of response to a clinical emergency 3. Increase familiarity with available Code Blue Trainer resources for initial and revalidation of staff competence 4. Verbalize understanding of requirements for Code Blue Trainers
Pre-requisites
Current Basic Life Support Certification, Clinical Emergency Response competency and Nurse Manager recommendation
