Description: This three-day, fast paced Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) Certification Review Course will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 (7:30AM-4PM), Thursday, October 17 (7:30AM-4PM), 2019, and Friday, November 1, 2019 (7:30AM-11:30AM) in FAES #6. The course was designed based on the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board's (PNCB) test blue print. Topics covered will include: PNCB CPN certification exam overview, preparation, registration, and scheduling; test taking strategies; pediatric growth and development; and content by body systems(respiratory, gastrointestinal/nutrition, infectious disease, emergencies/trauma/poisoning, neurology, hematology/oncology, cardiovascular, eye/ear/nose/throat, musculoskeletal, endocrine/metabolic, behavioral/mental health, genitourinary/renal/reproductive, skin/wounds/burns, and allergy/immunology/immunizations. Contact Hours: In order to successfully complete this activity and receive full contact hour credit (18.24 contact hours), participants must attend 90% of the activity and complete/submit an online course evaluation which will be emailed to all participants at the conclusion of the activity by Friday, November 8, 2019.

Target Audience: Pediatric nurses with: (1) 1,800 hours as an RN in pediatric nursing within the past 24 months or (2) a minimum of 5 years as an RN in pediatric nursing, 3,000 hours in pediatric nursing within the last 5 years with a minimum of 1,000 hours within the past 24 months.
Course Objectives: As a result of participating in this educational activity, participants will describe the registration process for the PNCB's CPN certification exam, identify resources to prepare for the CPN exam according to the test blueprint, and apply the concepts presented to formulate a study plan to sit for the CPN exam.
