Course Overview: Seminar-style workshop that will review pathophysiological basis, diagnostic approaches, clinical manifestations, and nursing management of selected neurodegenerative diseases such as: Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), Parkinson’s Disease (PD), multiple sclerosis (MS), pituitary dysfunctions, and epilepsy.

Pending (6.5 hrs) Contact hours will be awarded to those individuals who attend the entire event and complete and submit the evaluation forms. - This activity has been submitted to Maryland Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. Course Objectives

Describe the pathophysiological basis, diagnostic approaches, clinical manifestations, and nursing management of selected neurodegenerative diseases such as: -Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) -Parkinson’s Disease (PD) -Multiple Sclerosis (MS) -Pituitary dysfunctions -Epilepsy Review radiological images of structural changes associated with neurodegenerative disease Discuss current and future implications for nursing care related to patients with neurodegenerative diseases
