RCCBNOS 2019 Renewal course for Chemotherapy Biotherapy for Non-oncology Setting

Description

This on-line renewal course provides a review of: fundamentals of administration and nursing management of the non-oncology patient receiving cytotoxic and biologic agents; reviews new agents and conditions cared for by nurses in MSS and NBHP; provides review for documentation and updates to policies related to chemotherapy/biotherapy administration. ACLSO ACLS Online Session for Code Team RNs

Description

This class (for CCND Code Team RNs) is the online/in-person hybrid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) renewal and initial certification for the health care provider. All Classes are held in the Education and Training Room, 1-5672. Learners complete the class material online and must also complete an in-person skills verification in a separate session via the Department of Perioperative Medicine (DPM). A link to register for the DPM skills verification session is in the special comments section of this class listing. Unless otherwise noted, all online class sessions are held in the Education and Training Room 1-5672.

BCTC Basic Cardiac Telemetry Course

Description

This one-day course designed to provide an introduction to ECG interpretation for those that have little or no experience, as well as a great refresher for those that need to renew their skills for working in a telemetry monitoring environment. The course includes: A & P, basic electro-physiology, sinus mechanisms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, ventricular rhythms, AV blocks, and pacemaker rhythms. Additionally, special emphasis will be placed on lead placement (bedside monitor and telemetry), central monitoring, and nursing documentation. Successful completion of this course will meet the required behavioral indicator (BI) required for Cardiac Monitoring Competency validation

BLS - 31C Basic Life Support (BLS) Full Course Bldg 31C

Description

This course is AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider (previously "Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers). This course is for those that have not taken Basic Life Support for HealthCare Providers previously or for those whose certification has expired. This class will last up to 4 hours. All course materials (outlines, textbooks etc.) will be supplied at class. In order to pass the AHA BLS Provider Course, the AHA requires that each student successfully complete both a written exam and practical skills test. Failure to successfully complete any component of the course will result in failure of the course and a certification will not be issued. CPR is a physically demanding skill. Be prepared to perform CPR on the classroom floor. Dress accordingly. Comfortable attire is suggested; restrictive attire is discouraged. If you require glasses to read or see at a distance, please bring those with you to class. **Special Note re: OPM status: If the OPM daily status is Red or Yellow, class will not be held. Your registration will be removed so that you may register for another session. (this does not apply to appropriation-related yellow status)**

CPN 2019 CPN (Certified Pediatric Nurse) Certification Review Course

Description

This three-day, fast paced Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) Certification Review Course will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 (7:30AM-4PM), Thursday, October 17 (7:30AM-4PM), 2019, and Friday, November 1, 2019 (7:30AM-11:30AM) in FAES #6. The course was designed based on the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board's (PNCB) test blue print. Topics covered will include: PNCB CPN certification exam overview, preparation, registration, and scheduling; test taking strategies; pediatric growth and development; and content by body systems(respiratory, gastrointestinal/nutrition, infectious disease, emergencies/trauma/poisoning, neurology, hematology/oncology, cardiovascular, eye/ear/nose/throat, musculoskeletal, endocrine/metabolic, behavioral/mental health, genitourinary/renal/reproductive, skin/wounds/burns, and allergy/immunology/immunizations. CRC Cardiology Review Course

Description

Online self-paced cardiology course that will review normal and dysfunctional cardiac anatomy, physiology, assessment and electrophysiology. The course will include eight on-line case studies requiring individual response and scholarly discussion with peers regarding their response. The course will be facilitated and faculty will be available throughout for question and/or clarification. Upon completion of the course, participants will register for a simulation activity to demonstrate knowledge and skills obtained from this review course. A pre- and post- knowledge assessment will be required. Surveys of the course and simulation activities will be required prior to contact hours being awarded. No partial credit will be awarded.
