Description

This course is AHA Heart Code Basic Life Support Renewal Course. This course is for those that have taken Basic Life Support previously. Successful completion of the course indicates passing both the online Heart Code BLS course and practical skills demonstration. Please note: Digital e-cards will be issued for this class within 7 BUSINESS DAYS of the conclusion of the class. Students will receive an email from ecards@heart.org to claim their card. This invitation will be sent to the e-mail address the student entered on the physical roster/ sign-in sheet at the class. Occasionally, the NIH firewall will kick this email to a student's junk/ spam box. Remember to check the email put on the roster, junk, and spam on a regular basis. Another way students can look for their ecard, without having received the email from ecards@heart.org is to visit https://ecards.heart.org/student/myecards. Enter your name and email address provided on the roster to see if your card comes up. CPR is a physically demanding skill. Dress accordingly in comfortable attire. Late Policy: Each class session begins promptly at the stated start time. As the AHA requires that all students are present for the entirety of the course in order to received the course completion card, late admittance and/or early dismissal, is not permitted once the class has begun. Students are encouraged to arrive on-time for class. Weather related information for BUILDING 10 CLASSES ONLY: If the government for the Washington DC area is closed, class will be cancelled and you will need to reschedule. If the federal government is on a delay status, class will be held as scheduled and will begin on-time. OPM communicates delays and closings. You can go to this website for additional information: http://www.opm.gov (This does not apply to appropriations related govt. closures.)
