Description

Competency assessment and validation of psychiatric high-risk yet low volume skills is a priority for ensuring safe and effective nursing care in a specialized clinical research setting. Fortunately, many of these skills are for psychiatric emergency situations and are not utilized on a regular basis. Target Audience

All CCND Mental Health Clinical Research Nurses and Behavioral Health Technicians.

Course Objectives

Objectives: •Provide a focused environment for competency assessment and skills education away from the demands of nursing care. •To better support competency driven education by allowing time for participant interaction and skill building. •Share the responsibility of validating competence, The Joint Commission’s requirement for annual competency. •Support consistency in competency validation for all Behavioral Health nurses and technicians within the NBHP Service.

Pre-requisites

For 2018-attendance and completion of the CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention* Foundation Course with Enhanced Content.
