Description
This two-day, fast-paced Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) Certification Review Course will be held on two consecutive Fridays(October 12, 2018 in FAES #6 & October 29, 2018 in FAES #4) from 7:30AM-4PM. An optional study/review session will be offered on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 7:30AM-11:30AM in FAES #6 (no contact hours will be awarded for this session). The course was designed based on the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board's (PNCB) test blue print. Topics covered will include: PNCB CPN certification exam overview, preparation, registration, and scheduling; test taking strategies; pediatric growth and development; and content by body systems (respiratory, gastrointestinal/nutrition, infectious disease, emergencies/trauma/poisoning, neurology, hematology/oncology, cardiovascular, eye/ear/nose/throat, musculoskeletal, endocrine/metabolic, behavioral/mental health, genitourinary/renal/reproductive, skin/wounds/burns, and allergy/immunology/immunizations. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Maryland Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. In order to receive full contact-hour credit for this continuing nursing education activity, the participants must: -Sign the roster with your name and contact information -Attend the entire live course on Friday, October 12 & Friday, October 19, 2018 -Complete and submit the online course evaluation which will be emailed to all participants at the conclusion of the activity, by Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 5PM

Target Audience
Pediatric nurses with: 1. 1,800 hours as an RN in pediatric nursing within the past 24 months OR 2. A minimum of 5 years as an RN in pediatric nursing, 3,000 hours in pediatric nursing within the last 5 years with a minimum of 1,000 hours within the past 24 months
Course Objectives
As a result of participating in this educational activity, participants will describe the registration process for the PNCB’s CPN certification exam, identify resources to prepare for the CPN exam according to the test blueprint, and apply the concepts presented to formulate a study plan to sit for the CPN exam.
