Class Information for Protocol Coordinator: Learning the Role
Description
This course was developed to optimize and standardize the training information for CRNs interested in becoming or CRNs currently performing the role of PC. This hybrid course will provide the participant with the didactic information and tools necessary to begin the role of PC. The on-line, self-paced portion of the course will be available for 1 month - estimated time to complete is approximately 2 hours. At the end of the course participant will attend a WebEx or in-person workshop that will provide additional mentorship and guidance as well as the opportunity to ask questions, review course exercise and further discuss resources for the role. This workshop will last 2 hours.
Special Comments
Course will be available to the participants for 4 weeks from the opening date. Participants will be required to attend a 2 hour scheduled WebEx or in-person workshop approximately 4 weeks after course opening. In order to receive credit for the course, participants must complete the on-line course, attend the required 2 hour workshop and complete the survey.
Target Audience
Experienced clinical research nurses or those that feel prepared to enact the role of protocol coordinator.
Course Objectives
1. Understand the role of the protocol coordinator (PC). 2. Identify the tools and resources available to assist PC in becoming proficient. 3. Given a PRIA and Protocol - use tools provided to outline a plan for protocol implementation on a program of care.
Pre-requisites
Discuss with Unit Leadership - desire to become a protocol coordinator. Understanding that the participant will have 4 weeks to complete the course and will then attend a 2 hour workshop.
