Class Information for BLS-R Skills Sessions ONLY for Blended Learning Building 31C
Description
NOTE: Please DO NOT REGISTER for MULTIPLE BLS-R Skills Sessions ONLY trainings (between Buildings 10 & 31C). This training format is modified to a blended learning format to allow for social distancing and compliance with pandemic guidelines set forth by NIH Leadership. Traditional classroom trainings (videos, skills, and exam in class) are also available in Building 31C. eCARD ISSUANCE: Digital e-Cards will be issued for this class, within 7 BUSINESS DAYS of the conclusion of the class. Students will receive an invitation from: ecards@heart.org, to claim their card. This invitation will be sent to the e-mail address the student entered on the physical roster/sign-in sheet at the class. Occasionally, the NIH firewall will kick this e-mail to a student's junk/spam box. Remember to check the e-mail put on the roster, junk and spam on a regular basis. Another way students can look for their e-card, without having received an invitation from ecards@heart.org, is to visit: https://ecards.heart.org/student/myecards. Enter your name and e-mail address provided on the roster and see if your card comes up. CPR is a physically demanding skill. Be prepared to perform CPR on the classroom floor. Dress accordingly in comfortable attire. If you require glasses to read or see at a distance, please bring those with you to class. IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL REGISTRATIONS CLOSE FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO SCHEDULED TRAINING DATE. Face masks are required the entire training (please bring two masks, one as a backup).

Print out your Certificate of Completion and bring the Certificate to your scheduled Skills Session to participate and complete your certification. On-line courses do not have to be completed in one setting. If you have any problems with the on-line course or if you need assistance retrieving your log-in information and password, please call the AHA Help Desk at 1-888-242-8883. (9 to 5 PM EST, Monday through Friday). Students are expected to complete the on-line course and the written exam prior to attending a skills session. Certificates of Completion must be relinquished to the Instructor on the day of training. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. TO PRINT AHA CERTIFICATE: Completion their survey and you will get a prompt to print your certificate.
Target Audience
Basic Life Support Skills Sessions Only (Approximately 2 hours). The Basic Life Support Skill Sessions are for clinicians and NIH Public Health Service Officers (i.e., physicians, nurses, those who work in patient contact areas, clinical staff, and Commission Corps) that have a credentialing requirement to obtain the Basic Life Support certification. These skill sessions are part of the virtual BLS course for those that have taken the online Basic Life Support Course. The NIH AHA Training Center in building 31 is committed to providing scheduled BLS Skill Sessions to support the Blended Learning initiative for CPR Training. It is mandatory for clinicians and Commission Corps Officers to maintain their Basic Life Support certification every two years.
Course Objectives
To successfully complete this course students must follow these instructions carefully: 1] Register for desired session 2] Complete the AHA BLS Heart code On-Line Course (Instructions will be provided in the student email notices). [A] Students will receive an e-mail from the NIH Training Center Coordinator with instructions and their AHA BLS On-Line Web Key Code – a URL Link. Web Key Codes should be sent within 72 business hours after enrollment in NIH Class Track. [B] Click on the URL Link provided, which will open the American Heart Association’s eLearning web site. Click on the Activate Course button and follow the instructions to begin the course. If this is your first time completing an AHA eLearning course you will need to Register, then Log In. [C] Once you have completed the course, take and pass the written test. [D] Upon passing the test you will be required to complete a brief AHA Student Evaluation. [E] Print out your Certificate of Completion and bring the Certificate to your assigned AHA BLS Provider Skills Session to be allowed to participate and receive certification. [F] On-line courses do not have to be completed in one setting.
