Class Information for Nursing Skills Days
Description
Oncology and Critical Care Service Skills days offer an opportunity for competency validation and education. Participants can visit the following competency stations: Chemo/bio Administration, Chest Tubes, Clinical Emergency Response, Tracheostomies, Pain Management, and Seizure. The following education stations will be available: Hazardous Drugs, Skin/Wound Care, Documentation Guidelines, CVAD Hot Topics and Cardiac Monitoring.
Staff should work with unit leadership to determine which stations will best meet the learner and the unit's needs.
Participants will be expected to complete self assessment on competency forms upon arrival to the skills day and return all completed competencies to the unit Clinical Educator after the skills day.
Walk in participants will also be accommodated.
Target Audience
Nursing skills days are for Clinical Center Nursing Department Clinical Research Nurses, including unit based per diems.
