Class Information for OCC Skills Day
Description
Oncology and Critical Care Service Skills days offer an opportunity for competency validation and education. Participants can visit the following competency stations: Central Venous Access Devices, Chemo/bio Administration, Chest Tubes, Clinical Emergency Response, and/or Skin/Wound Care. The following education stations will be available: Preventing CAUTI, Documentation Guidelines, and Protocol Navigation.
Staff should work with unit leadership to determine which stations will best meet the learner and the unit's needs.
Participants will be expected to complete self assessment on competency forms upon arrival to the skills day and return all completed competencies to the unit Clinical Educator after the skills day.
Walk in participants will also be accommodated.
Target Audience
These OCC skills days are for nurses working in the OCC, including unit based per diems in OCC.
