Description

This workshop is designed to assist nurses with abstract development and critique. Participants will come to the workshop with a draft of their abstract, which will be reviewed by the workshop attendees. Participants must have completed the Abstract and Poster Development Workshop prior to registering.

Facilitator: Kimberly Middleton works in Nursing Research & Practice Development (RAPD). She has presented at national conferences for nursing, public health, and behavioral health. She is an abstract reviewer for the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science and American Public Health Association.

Target Audience

Staff members who have successfully completed the Abstract and Poster Development Workshop and are currently developing an abstract for submission to a professional organization or journal.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the workgroup, participants will: -Offer and receive constructive feedback on draft abstracts -Develop strategies to improve writing and critiquing skills

Pre-requisites

- Completion of the Abstract & Poster Workshop - One page, one-sided draft abstract (blinded)for workgroup review
