Class Information for ONS NEW PROVIDERS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate Course and Bridge to Practice
Description
The online Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certificate Program provides nurses with a comprehensive overview of chemotherapy and biotherapy. The in-person Bridge to Practice sessions review NIH specific policies and procedures related to chemo/bio administration at NIH. The ONS Chemo/Bio Certificate is obtained after successful completion of the course including a course exam and graded discussion board questions. An 80% or higher must be achieved on the exam and discussion board questions before an RN can receive the certificate. The certificate is valid for two years. The Clinical Center Nursing Department program of care competency for chemotherapy and biotherapy requires successful completion of a chemotherapy course including an examination and clinical practicum (to be completed on the patient care unit) prior to administering chemotherapy or biotherapy.
