Class Information for Evidence-Based Practice Boot Camp

Description

Designed specifically for NIH Clinical Research Nurses, this one-day Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Boot Camp equips participants with the knowledge and skills to translate evidence into meaningful improvements in clinical research and patient care. The course introduces the Melnyk EBP framework and methodology, establishing a strong foundation for conducting evidence-based nursing practice within the NIH research environment. Through engaging, interactive scenarios, participants will explore the seven steps of the EBP process, strengthen clinical inquiry skills, and develop PICOT questions relevant to clinical research settings. Learners will be guided through effective literature searching, critical appraisal, and synthesis of evidence, culminating in the ability to support and implement best-practice changes aligned with NIH standards of excellence and innovation. Strategies for dissemination of EBP outcomes will be discussed, and participants will explore the use of the INSPIRE 2.0 algorithm as a tool to guide Clinical Research Nurses through Evidence-Based Practice, research, and quality improvement processes.
